“Diver Up! Showdown” is a group show of artists exhibiting his or her own interpretation of Victor Spinelli’s famed photograph, “Diver Up!” The original photograph was created in 2005, in Ibiza, Spain. With this photo Victor is counter balancing the industrial hard, man made deep sea diving helmet with a beautiful and natural soft female body anonymously hidden behind the mask. The opening had a huge turnout and the artists did not disappoint. The Gallery is a beautiful, large space with glass windows so passers by can easily see the exhibition from outside and is literally at the foot of the steps to the Highline.
A big thanks to the owner Zane, the gifted Victor Spinelli, curator Frankie Velez and each of the talented artists for a job well done. Thanks to Tucker Hill for the music and of course to all the people who came to support.
The exhibition will be up for the next 10 days. Stray Kat Gallery is located at 450 14th Street at the corner of 10th Avenue in the Chelsea/ Meat Packing District of Manhattan.
